Dear Colleagues, Textile composites represent a broad class of advanced materials which are reinforced by textile preforms. They have been increasingly applied in many engineering and manufacturing areas, such as automotive, aerospace, civil infrastructure, maritime, sporting construction and for biomedical applications, due to the fact that they can significantly improve . Highly flexible and electrically-conductive multifunctional textiles are desirable for use in wearable electronic applications. In this study, we fabricated multifunctional textile composites by vacuum filtration and wet-transfer of graphene oxide films on a flexible polyethylene terephthalate (PET) textile in association with embedding Ag nanoparticles (AgNPs) to improve the electrical Cited by: 5.

JEC Group, a leading composite organisation in the world, promoting composite markets by providing global and local networking and information services, has announced the launch of the first ever book on the growing use of composites in architecture named “The Future of Building: The Growing Use of Composites in Construction and Architecture”.   The presented elastomer composites have great potential for solving emerging new material application requirements, for example as flexible and wearable electronics. The book is structured and organized by the rubber/elastomer type: each chapter describes a different elastomer matrix and its : Springer International Publishing.

Textile-reinforced composites are increasingly used in various industries such as aerospace, construction, automotive, medicine, and sports due to their distinctive advantages over traditional materials such as metals and ceramics.

Fiber-reinforced composite materials are lightweight, stiff, and strong. They have good fatigue and impact by: 2. The fibres should be flexible/pliant so that they can be bend easily without breaking.

For example, woven fibre composites needs flexible fibres. Fl ibilit i d fi d i f b di tiffFlexibility is defined as inverse of bending stiffness. Consider a fibre as beam under pure bending, then EI – Bending stiffness or Flexural rigidity.
